Chad Samuels, known artistically as C.H.A.D, is a dynamic musician and storyteller hailing from Cape Town, South Africa. He grew up with his dad who is originally from North Carolina, USA, C.H.A.D draws heavily from American culture, style, and a diverse array of musical influences, including hip-hop, boom bap, soul, R&B, rock, EDM, jazz, and reggae. At just 24 years old, he has been passionately crafting his unique sound since Highschool the age of 14, beginning with the release of “Ten Toes Down” on SoundCloud in 2017—a heartfelt tribute to a lost friend that ignited his desire to experiment with music.
A natural storyteller, C.H.A.D seamlessly blends rap and singing to convey his experiences and emotions. He took a gap year post-high school to study fashion design at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT). However, the COVID-19 pandemic shifted his focus back to music, prompting him to pursue sound engineering at Cape Audio College. He not only earned his degree IN 3 Years but also received the prestigious Student of the Year award upon graduation in 2024.
With an impressive catalog of 46 songs, 4 music videos and one EP, C.H.A.D has collaborated with prominent figures in the industry.
He has featured as a guest on Cape Town TV, a popular local network, and worked with South Africa’s renowned YouTuber Dan Mace, appearing on the “Bru Show” that airs on Discovery TV. One of his appearances on YouTube has garnered over 200,000 views, showcasing his growing influence. C.H.A.D’s music reflects a rich tapestry of personal experiences and universal themes, inviting listeners to dream alongside him.
